F1 | Ferrari, Vettel: “I like the Sochi circuit”

The Singapore Grand Prix is over, where he found the top step of the podium that he had been missing for over a year, Sebastian Vettel is focused on the next world championship event which will take place this weekend on the Sochi track.

On the Russian track, on the calendar since 2014, the German driver has never managed to triumph, only obtaining a pole position in 2017.

"We've been coming to compete in Russia for a few years now and the Sochi Autodrom is another of those tracks where we were close to victory but never achieved it. We have good memories, like the front row entirely occupied by Scuderia Ferrari two years ago, but we still need that last step to be completely satisfied”, declared Vettel.

The four-time world champion, speaking about the circuit, said: “I like it, it is unique in its own way because it passes close to the facilities and the Medal Plaza of the Winter Olympic Games and this has a certain effect on me. There are several similar corners, all very technical which are not easy to tackle in terms of entry, braking and ability to rotate the car effectively and without sacrificing the tires".

"From a driving point of view, in my opinion it is one of the most technical tracks on the calendar and for this reason it is particularly satisfying to be able to put together the perfect lap, especially in qualifying.”, concluded the German.
