F1 | Ferrari, Vettel: “Tough race, but second place is a good result”

Second place for Sebastian Vettel in the Monaco Grand Prix, sixth round of the 2019 Formula One World Championship. The German, who reached the finish line third, benefited from the penalty imposed on Max Verstappen's Red Bull to take second place (the first in this championship, ed.) behind the Mercedes of winner Lewis Hamilton.

A good performance for the four-time champion that makes up for a difficult weekend for Ferrari.

Vettel, analyzing the race in the Principality, said: “It was a tough race today, but in the end this second place is a good result. I'm happy for the team who achieved the podium on an iconic circuit like Monte Carlo. Today we also managed to take advantage of other people's mistakes, but that's part of the game. When I was behind Lewis, who was fighting with his tyres, and Max who was chasing him very closely, I saw them touching and for a moment I even deluded myself that I could be the one to win".

He then added: “We are happy with how today went, but not completely because we know we still have a lot of work to do. Too bad for Charles. It wasn't exactly his best weekend".
