F1 | Ferrari, Vettel: “I could have achieved a better result without the yellow flags”

Sebastian Vettel he will start from the front row of the grid in the Mexican Grand Prix.

The German from Ferrari, benefiting from the sanction imposed on Max Verstappen guilty of not slowing down after the crash into the barriers involving Bottas' Mercedes, is promoted from third to second place and will therefore start alongside Charles's twin SF90 tomorrow Leclerc.

"I can't be completely satisfied with today, because I could have achieved a better result if it hadn't been for the yellow flags caused by Valtteri Bottas' accident”, said Seb.

The standard bearer of the Red, analyzing his attempts in the third and final qualifying heat, then added: “In the first attempt the initial sector was optimal, while I exceeded the caution in the second, losing pace. I was then too aggressive in the third sector to the point that in the last corner I almost lost the car. However, I was confident that I could improve on the second attempt, and I was doing so before having to abort the lap. Those are things that happen".

On the race: “Tomorrow the key will be to have a well-balanced car, which works well and helps preserve the tyres. A good strategy will also be needed, because the three top teams start with the same tire choice and a close race can be expected".
