F1 | Ferrari, Vasseur: “We didn't make an offer to Hamilton”
"Every team on the grid would like to have Lewis," commented the Frenchman
The team principal of the Maranello team has denied the indiscretion published this week by the Daily Mail: Ferrari has not made any offer to Lewis Hamilton. According to what was reported by the British newspaper, the seven-time world champion was offered 40 million to leave Mercedes.
“Two weeks ago I read that Sainz would go to Audi, then that Leclerc would go to Mercedes,” said the team principal in the press conference held today in the Ferrari hospitality.
“This week I found out about Lewis' arrival. We know perfectly well that at this stage of the season there will be a different story every week and we have not made any offer to Lewis Hamilton. We didn't have any arguments. I think every single team on the grid would like to have Hamilton at some point, it would be foolish not to say something like that. I've been talking to Hamilton every weekend for 20 years and I don't want to stop because you follow me."
