Next meeting in seven days again in Austria

Sainz and Leclerc recover and finish in the points in Austria
F1 | Ferrari, a comeback step for Spielberg

Scuderia Ferrari closed the first of the two races scheduled in Austria, the Styrian Grand Prix, with a sixth and seventh place, respectively with Carlos Sainz and Charles Leclerc.

A decent result, the result of an excellent performance by the two drivers and of an SF21 which proved to have a superior pace compared to that of its direct opponents. This allowed both of them to be protagonists of a good comeback: Carlos to recover from his position on the starting grid (12th), Charles from the back of the group to which he had been relegated after the contact with Gasly shortly after the start.

Eleven overtakings. Carlos drove a solid race which saw him maximize the advantage of having free choice of tyres. The Spaniard did very well at extending his initial stint on the Mediums, moving up the rankings as the riders in front of him stopped. After the forced stop on the first lap, Charles divided his race more or less in half: 36 laps done on the Hard tyres, 33 on the Mediums. The Monegasque enriched his comeback with eleven overtakings which earned him the recognition of "Driver of the Day".

Encore race. The World Championship continues with the last race of the first hat-trick of the season. Next week, in fact, we will remain in Spielberg for the Austrian Grand Prix, the ninth round of the championship.
