F1 | Ferrari SF-24 on track between today and tomorrow at Fiorano

F1 Ferrari SF-24 – A limited number of guests in attendance, with the rest of the world connected online, today attended the presentation of the Ferrari SF-24, the seventieth single-seater built for the Formula 1 world championship. The company top management was in Fiorano, with the president John Elkann, the CEO Benedetto Vigna and the vice president Piero Ferrari, as well as the representatives of the partners and the team - primarily the Team Principal Fred Vasseur and the drivers Charles Leclerc and Carlos Sainz - which is now ready to leave for the most challenging in history: 24 races, which will start next week with the only three days of pre-season testing scheduled in Bahrain, also home to the first Grand Prix scheduled for Saturday 2 March.

The concept of the SF-24

The SF-24 is the third car of the new ground effect generation introduced two years ago by Formula 1, but it represents a breaking point with the single-seaters that preceded it, a discontinuity that is also found in the shapes. The group of designers directed by Enrico Cardile worked with the aim of giving Charles and Carlos a car that was easy to drive and sincere in its reactions, starting from the positive sensations that the drivers had in the cockpit in the last races of last season, and putting them in condition of making the most of the power unit's potential and showing off their undoubted capabilities.

Colors and details

At first glance the car is aesthetically very different and this concept also extends to the livery. After the success of the special bodywork in Las Vegas last November, white was reintroduced and joined by yellow, which has always been Ferrari's second colour, which recalls the link with Modena but is also a transversal element for the two main activities sports cars from the Maranello company, Formula 1 and the World Endurance Championship. Furthermore, like last year, the SF-24 and the 499P competing in the World Endurance Championship will also share the same red - Racing Red 2024 - which according to recent tradition on the SF-24 will be opaque. As for yellow, it is certainly not the first time it has appeared on Ferrari Formula 1 cars even if the longitudinal stripes of this color have been missing from the livery since 1968 and this season they are paired in an unprecedented way with the white ones. Compared to previous seasons, the black has therefore decreased, now limited to the bottom of the car, the front bulkheads, part of the halo and other details. The wheels are also red with a double white and yellow stripe, colors that also characterize the race numbers - 16 and 55 - which continue to be in Ferrari Sans, the official font of the Maranello company, but now in italics.

First kilometers to Fiorano

Between today and tomorrow the SF-24 will complete its first kilometers to allow the collection of images and photographs for marketing and communication use, but obviously this need will offer the team the possibility of carrying out the shakedown of the car and will allow the drivers, after testing it in the simulator in recent weeks, to get a first idea of ​​how the car behaves on the track.
