F1 | Ferrari, Sainz: “I am very proud of the progress made and my adaptation”
"Ferrari is the greatest team I've ever worked with," admitted the Spaniard
Carlos Sainz was one of the drivers who this season did not pay a big price when it came to changing cars. In fact, the Spaniard, called by Ferrari to take Sebastian Vettel's place, has had a good season so far where he also achieved two podium finishes in the Monaco and Hungarian GPs. The Maranello standard bearer, interviewed by the Mission Winnow website, discussed his adaptation to the reality of Maranello, drawing up an initial assessment.
"Obviously the more races I do the better I feel – Sainz underlined - I think there's still potential to improve as a team by simply working more time together, but overall I'm very proud of the progress we've made so far and how quickly I've been able to adapt. Confidence is very high and I think as a team in the last few races we are starting to put the whole weekend together, and as the season progresses this will get easier and easier".
The Spaniard, discussing the impact Ferrari had on him, added: “It's the largest team I've ever worked with and a much larger organization than I'm used to, so it makes the overall challenge more difficult. But thanks to the move to Italy, thanks to the good welcome that everyone gave me, it was very simple and the adaptation and the atmosphere were very good".
