F1 | Ferrari, Sainz exclusively: "Dirty air on my good lap, I had three cars in front"

from Monte Carlo, Monaco

The qualifications of Carlos Sainz they didn't go in the best way. The pilot of the Ferrari he finished in fifth place at the end of an hour or so which started badly due to the many traffic problems he had in Q1, with the Spaniard risking being left out already at the first cut, a classic of Montecarlo. After which he managed to pass the Q2 cut quite easily, while in Q3, once again thanks to the heavy traffic, in this case created by Verstappen, Tsunoda e Norris, Carlos had to settle for the third row, certainly not ideal on a track like that of the Principality. We heard from him immediately after qualifying, here's what he told us.

“Yesterday's accident did not affect today's performance – Sainz admitted to Motorionline. I was strong in both Q2 and Q3, I struggled in Q1 because there was a lot of traffic, I didn't lose confidence. I found three cars in front on my good lap in qualifying, they bothered me and created a lot of dirty air and I lost a lot of load in turns 3, 4, 6 and 7. There were Verstappen, Tsunoda and Norris. My lap was therefore compromised, but Monaco is like that and tomorrow I will try to recover. I see it as difficult, because it wasn't a particularly good Saturday, but here everything is possible and I will try to give everything!".
