F1 | Ferrari, Sainz excited: "I have the ability to help the team return to winning"

Carlos Sainz thinks he arrived at Ferrari at the right time in his career. In fact, the Spaniard, despite being only 26 years old, already has excellent experience in Formula One which has led him to already drive for Toro Rosso, Renault, McLaren and indeed Ferrari. Maranello's new standard-bearer is certain that he has the skills and talent that can allow the Rossa to return to being a protagonist in the top class.

“ASome people think we are too young for Ferrari, but I'm 26 and in my seventh season – said Sainz, interviewed by Corriere della Sera – I have the skills to help the team get back to winning ways. Charles has already proven his worth. Two young drivers bring a lot of energy".

The Bahrain GP represented Sainz's debut race in red. The Spaniard did well, running a solid race which led him to finish in the points. Beyond eighth place, Carlos underlined how his adaptation to the car is continuing very well.

"It was a good start, but more for the feelings than for the result. Coming eighth is nothing special, but I didn't expect to adapt so quickly to the team and the car – Sainz admitted – I was able to go fast straight away, but now I want much more ".
