F1 | Ferrari, Sainz: “Once again a pit stop cost us the undercut”

Carlos Sainz's US GP was also characterized by a slow stop which did not allow the Ferrari Spaniard to overtake Daniel Ricciardo's McLaren at that juncture. A note that the Maranello standard bearer underlined at the end of the Austin race, which Carlos finished in eighth place, reiterating how that 5.6 second pit stop had an impact on the missed undercut.

"Another bad pit stop that didn't allow us to overtake Ricciardo, from there, we did the whole race behind Ricciardo – said Sainz, interviewed by DAZN España – I managed to do one lap, but due to the heat the tires were overheating. What cost us was, once again, the stop that didn't give us the undercut, which we would have done with a decent one instead. This has happened several times in a row already".
