F1 | Ferrari, Sainz analyzes 2023: "I had a solid season"

If the Ferrari achieved what turned out to be the only victory of last season, among other things the only one not signed by Red Bull with the Milton Keynes team which literally stole the show on the track, he owes it to Carlos Sainz. The Spaniard in fact won in Singapore, on the Marina Bay city track, becoming the protagonist of a weekend where he was clearly superior to the competition.

Despite a season finale to forget, where between Las Vegas and Abu Dhabi he achieved much less than the potential of the SF-23, Sainz promoted his championship. The Cavallino standard-bearer has in fact defined his year as "solid", underlining how the progress made during the last few months leads to optimism with a view to 2024.

“My season was solid – declared Sainz, interviewed by AS – Even though it didn't end as I would have liked after a second part of the season in which I was doing very well. But it was solid, the team made great progress and we fought for more important things."

Sainz then, continuing with his own discussion, added: “This makes me proud, the team is making progress and if we manage to make another one in 2024, we will be in the fight. The taste of the season finale is bitter, but I quickly forget about it and focus on next year. Coming fourth, fifth, sixth or seventh one year doesn't change your life."
