F1 | Ferrari, Raikkonen on Austin qualifying: "We are happy with the result obtained"

Kimi Raikkonen will start from the front row in US Grand Prix.

In fact, the Finn, taking advantage of the three-place penalty imposed by the stewards' panel on teammate Sebastian Vettel, will be alongside Lewis Hamilton and will be able to benefit from the ultrasofts at the start compared to the supersofts with which his direct rivals will start.

The 2007 world champion, commenting on the Texan qualifying Saturday, declared: “In the last few races we have struggled a bit, but so far this weekend everything has returned to normal; we are more or less where we should be. We are happy with how things went today. We certainly wanted more, but at least we proved we were there. The morning started off well straight away. Of course there are always things we hoped to do or feel slightly better, but it's not that easy with limited dry time".

Continuing with his discussion, the Finn added: “During qualifying the feeling with the different sets of tires was not entirely identical, and this made it more difficult to know when to push the pace. The wind changed in some places and that made things a little difficult, but overall we did well. I don't know if it will be an advantage to start tomorrow with the Ultrasoft; we'll find out. We will try to make a good start and see what happens. I believe we should have a good opportunity".
