F1 | Ferrari, Raikkonen: “Difficult race, result does not reflect our expectations”

Commenting on the outcome of the Chinese Grand Prix, the third seasonal round of the 2018 Formula One World Championship, Kimi Raikkonen, who finished the Shanghai race in third place behind Valtteri Bottas' Mercedes and winner Daniel Ricciardo's Red Bull, said said: "It was a rather difficult and not very pleasant race. At the start I got off to a good start, but then I had to lift my foot and this cost me several positions. After the pit stop the car was running well and the feeling was good; We were behind at that point, but I could see the other cars at the end of the straight. The Safety Car helped us; at that time we had unworn tires. I'd say it put us back in the race. In the end I was quite fast on the Mediums compared to the others using the same tyres, but it was really difficult to get close to them and try to follow them. We were certainly faster than Valtteri, but when you get closer everything becomes more difficult, you lose grip and a lot of aerodynamic load, especially on this type of track. So I was never able to really attack. Today we take third position, but obviously, when you start from the front row, it is far from the ideal result. We'll try to do better next time".
