F1 | Ferrari, meetings and technical meetings on the Saturday stop at Suzuka

On the Saturday of a Grand Prix we usually talk about times, strategies, laps flown: third free practice session, Q1, Q2, Q3, press conference, meetings with the media. This year in Japan none of this: in Suzuka the spotlight was claimed by typhoon Hagibis, which means "speed", which upset the weekend program and canceled all activity on the track. In fact, the circuit remained closed to the public, the media and most of the team personnel, of whom only a very small delegation was authorized to attend, solely to monitor the situation.

On the track. Last night the Scuderia Ferrari Mission Winnow staff, after free practice, dismantled everything that Hagibis' fury risked taking away. The entire paddock was organized accordingly: even the stalls in the fanzone overlooking the amusement park located next to the circuit were dismantled, while in the paddock the hospitality areas of the various teams were emptied of the hanging displays to avoid damage.

In the garage. Inside the garage, the cars and all the materials used have been made safe, the service structure used at the pit stop has been dismantled and placed inside the garage, the external panels in front and behind the garage have been removed , the shutters have obviously been lowered while sandbags have been positioned at the base to prevent the water, which fell in abundance, from entering. The pitwall was also boxed up, boxed up and strapped down.

In hotel. For the Scuderia Ferrari staff, however, it was not a Saturday holiday. The drivers in their respective hotels alternated physical training with meetings with the technicians to prepare for what will certainly be an intense Sunday for men and vehicles. The engineers worked on the various possible scenarios tomorrow both in qualifying and during the race in a meeting room set up as a real operations center for the team. Tomorrow we'll wake up at dawn as the paddock will open at 5am while track activity will begin at 10am (3am CET) with the definition of the grid. The Japanese Grand Prix is confirmed at 14.10pm (7.10am CET).
