F1 | Ferrari, Marchionne praises the team's work: "We are at the same level as Mercedes"

In an interview given to Sky Sport F1 HD, Sergio Marchionne spoke about Ferrari's expectations for this Italian Grand Prix, underlining the great work done by the technicians over the last twelve months. The President of the Scuderia di Maranello, who arrived in Monza this morning, reported some differences compared to 2016, explaining that there is a different atmosphere within the team. The SF70-H can be considered at the same level as the W08 EQ Power and for this reason the objective will be to compete with Mercedes until the end, without prejudice to the fact that Monza is a track that rewards the Stuttgart company's cars due to its characteristics.

Here are the words of Sergio Marchionne: “The guys have done a great job in the last twelve months and there is a different atmosphere within the team. The good thing is that we have a plan to develop our car until the end of the season and we are happy with our level. We have the same performance as Mercedes and therefore we are confident that we will compete until the end. We know that we didn't start as favorites in Spa and the same goes for Monza, but for the rest of the season we are confident that we will be at their level."

A few words also on the small incident triggered by Mercedes at Spa with the new engine: “Many think it's clever, but we can still develop our own engine. Mercedes has assembled the fourth unit and from now on it will no longer be able to develop without incurring a penalty. For Toto it's a clever move, but in the long run we'll see who is right." he concluded.
