F1 – Ferrari, Marchionne in Monza to reach an agreement with Red Bull and Toro Rosso

Ferrari wants to reopen negotiations with Red Bull to supply engines to Red Bull Racing and Toro Rosso from the 2016 Formula 1 season. The President of the Prancing Horse, Sergio Marchionne, will be in Monza this weekend for the Italian GP and will try to reach an agreement with the Austrian company to prevent a possible partnership between Red Bull and Mercedes.

The energy drink company is looking for a way to terminate its contract with Renault and Mercedes, through Toto Wolff, has repeatedly stated that it will not open negotiations until the two parties involved have reached an agreement.

“Renault and Daimler have a very friendly relationship on an industrial level, so until Red Bull and Renault have decided how to proceed, we won't even start negotiations,” Wolff explained. “The situation is extremely complex, many decisions must be made about it” he added.

Marchionne, according to rumors, will put on the table the possibility for Red Bull to have the latest specification of Ferrari power unit, contrary to what was previously offered. Marchionne will also explore the possibility of bringing one of Daniel Ricciardo, Max Verstappen and Carlos Sainz to Maranello after 2016 to replace Kimi Raikkonen.
