F1 | Ferrari, power struggle within the Scuderia?

Mattia Binotto and Maurizio Arrivabene in play for the future position of Team Principal

Things are heating up ahead of the season finale, with the Italian-Swiss coach ready to complete the climb to the top of the Maranello team that began a few seasons ago
F1 | Ferrari, power struggle within the Scuderia?

Despite the excellent performances of this championship and the world championship leadership occupied by Sebastian Vettel, the atmosphere at Ferrari seems livelier than ever. According to what was declared by Bild, Mattia Binotto and Maurizio Arriabene are carrying out a real power war within the Scuderia.

Having arrived at the top of the technical direction about a year ago, Binotto is one of the protagonists of this rebirth by Ferrari. The Swiss engineer has put together all the pieces left along the way by James Allison's management, putting the team on a path regarding the technical development of the SF70-H (and not only that. Ed.).

The diatribe in this sense is quite simple: Binotto, the team's rising star, would like to cover more roles within the team, thus covering the authority of Maurizio Arrivabene. Needless to say, the manager from Brescia did not take the matter philosophically, even threatening a farewell from Phillip Morris.

A very complex situation which is certainly not helping the team in the world fight against Mercedes. Bild also reports a possible story behind the hijacking of Lorenzo Sassi to the road department, underlining how Binotto wanted to "refresh" a department that had gone beyond the sporting regulations more than once.

We will see how this situation will evolve, but one thing is certain: the spirits at Ferrari are more heated than ever.
