F1 | Ferrari, Leclerc: “Great relationship with Hamilton, it won’t change”
"I have never had a bad relationship with my teammate. We are here to work for Ferrari," said the Monegasque
2025 will give Charles Leclerc the chance to share the Ferrari garage with the most successful driver in the history of Formula 1: Lewis Hamilton. The Englishman, who is preparing to compete in his last races at the wheel of the Mercedes, bringing to a close a relationship of over a decade with the Star during which he has collected victories and world championships, grinding out record after record, is about to undertake a new stimulating and fascinating challenge that will bring him to the court of Maranello.
Leclerc, discussing his future teammate, stressed that since signing with Ferrari he has begun to explore common interests with Hamilton beyond the purely professional aspect. Furthermore, the Monegasque admitted that the relationship between the two is very good and Leclerc himself is convinced that it will remain so.
“Actually, since the announcement with Ferrari we have talked a lot more about our shared passion outside of racing,” Leclerc said in an interview with The Race and ESPN. “It’s nice, we have a great relationship and I’m sure it will stay that way.”
The Monegasque then added: “I have never had a bad relationship with my teammate, and although I am sure it will be a competitive battle, we are here to work for Ferrari and there is no doubt about that. He is a great professional, I have a lot of respect for him, and we already have a great relationship.”
