F1 | Ferrari, Leclerc on the Monaco GP: "We proved that we are very fast"

Charles Leclerc declared that the pace expressed by Ferrari on the streets of the Principality was not very different from that of Mercedes, which achieved its sixth consecutive victory of the season in the Monaco GP.

Leclerc's Monegasque weekend, which saw him race in front of his compatriots for the first time in the red Cavallino tracksuit, was marked by the strategic error committed by the pit wall of the Red team during the first qualifying heat which forced during the race to start from the eighth row.

In the race the young Ferrari talent was the protagonist of excellent overtaking, but the contact at Rascasse with Nico Hulkenberg's Renault then forced him to retire due to damage to the floor.

"In terms of pace we proved to be quite fast, especially in the third free practice – said Leclerc -. Fighting with Mercedes? I think it's always difficult to say where we would have been, also because we didn't start from where we wanted and we didn't get the results we wanted. If you analyze the weekend as a whole I think the performances were similar".
