F1 | Ferrari, Leclerc: "Sainz is a strong driver, when we have the right car he can win"

The Spaniard, who immediately made an excellent impression on his new team, immediately bonded with Charles Leclerc. In fact, the Monegasque, discussing the relationship with the former McLaren standard bearer, admitted how the two got along immediately.

"Carlos is a really strong driver and until now he has never had the right car to prove it – declared Leclerc, interviewed by Sportweek magazine- I expect him to fight for victories when we have the right car. I didn't know Carlos very well, because we never had much time to spend together."

Leclerc then, continuing to talk about Sainz, recalled an episode: "I remember one day in Singapore, in the evening, he was watching the circuit from the swimming pool on the roof of the Marina Bay Sand skyscraper and I was there too, so we started talking. Now the relationship is strengthening. The things we have in common are our age and our interests, we often laugh together and get along very well. We joke about everything, like two normal guys. We don't just talk about racing, but also about our lives and what happens to us every day. We have so much fun".
