F1 | Ferrari, Leclerc: "It's a shame about the podium, but we were competitive"

Fourth place and some regrets for Charles Leclerc in the Turkish Grand Prix. The Ferrari driver was excellent for most of the race, maintaining a pace worthy of that shown by Mercedes and Red Bull. At the end, Ferrari's management wasn't exactly impeccable, returning to the pits to fit intermediate tires at the least opportune moment, effectively burning the tires after a few laps. Apart from this however, the performance of the SF21 on the wet Istanbul Park track was more than good.

“Overall it was a positive race – Leclerc said. We were very competitive and especially in the first stint I was very comfortable with the car. We stayed on the track for a long time with the first set of intermediates and after the other riders stopped to fit a new set we found ourselves to be the fastest even without having changed the tyres. After a few laps however, our opponents' graining cleared up and they began to find a lot of performance. At that point we realized that we would have to stop too. I made my pit stop out of sync with the other drivers and therefore didn't have time to overcome the graining phase and respond to the attacks. It's a shame to have missed out on the podium but the performance was evident and this is undoubtedly a source of satisfaction."
