F1 | Ferrari, Leclerc: "It wasn't an easy day, I struggled to find the right balance"
"We are satisfied with the components we tried, they worked well," admitted the Monegasque
Seventh time for Charles Leclerc in the second free practice session at the Hungaroring. In the afternoon the Monegasque from Ferrari completed 21 laps, eight less than in the morning, the fastest of which was 1'18"852, almost a second from the best performance achieved by Pierre Gasly.
The standard bearer of the Red team, commenting on the work carried out on the track, conditioned by the rain that fell in the afternoon, said: “It wasn't an easy day because we had to deal with changing track conditions: the first session was relatively dry, while in the second we had to run in a wet configuration and with intermediate tires".
“Overall I struggled quite a bit in finding the most correct balance for my needs and I think there is still a lot to do in view of qualifying even if in the wet I think I was more competitive – underlined Leclerc –. We'll see what conditions the track will be in during qualifying".
Concluding he added: “Looking at the positive aspects of the day I must say that the components we tested today all worked in the way we expected and therefore we can be satisfied".
