F1 | Ferrari, Leclerc: “It wasn't an easy race”

Charles Leclerc closes the season by obtaining the lowest step of the podium in the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix. The Monegasque, ended up under investigation in the pre-race due to the fuel level declared by Ferrari, He thus ended his 2019 season in fourth place in the World Championship, which saw him win 7 pole positions (he is the driver who started from the pole the most times, ed.) and 2 victories.

Leclerc, commenting on his first championship with the red Cavallino tracksuit, said: “I never imagined that my first season as a Scuderia Ferrari driver would be so special. From my personal point of view it is fantastic to be able to end the year with so many pole positions and two victories under my belt. It's obvious that every rider would like even more and there's always something that could have been done better, but my season was certainly positive, also because I learned a lot. I am grateful to the whole team for the support that has never failed me and for the hard work that the whole team has done for me".

On the race held at the Yas Marina Circuit: “Today was not an easy race – admitted Charles -. I started from third position and I knew I had to try to win to regain third place in the world rankings. I tried but unfortunately I didn't succeed today".

On next season: “This winter we will have to work a lot to try to improve our race pace. We have always been strong in qualifying this season, while we have a lot of room for improvement in race configuration – underlined the Ferrari standard bearer -. Still, it's nice to end the season with a podium, especially given the fact that I hadn't been on one for a few races. We're stopping now, but I'm sure I'll be looking forward to getting back in the car in a few days. In fact, I can already say that I can't wait for the time to leave for Melbourne".
