F1 | Ferrari, Leclerc: “I only focus on myself, without emulating anyone else”
The Monegasque talks about himself in the "Futured" special on Sky Sport F1
Charles Leclerc is certainly in the spotlight after his excellent debut year in Formula 1, but he will be even more so in 2019, when he will debut with Ferrari. The pressure will be very different and the expectations very high, because driving for the Cavallino is different, and the slightest mistake could be paid dearly. Charles showed coolness and a lot of personality at Alfa Romeo Sauber, and will be the protagonist of a special on sky sports f1 tomorrow, Saturday 15 December in the “Futured” special.
“I started karting when I was 3 and a half years old – Leclerc told Carlo Vanzini – and I fell in love with this sport without ever wanting to change. It was immediately clear that I wanted to do this in life. My father had an important role in this choice: one day he was about to go to see Jules Bianchi's father and I pretended to be ill so as not to go to school. At that point he took me with him and I tried the kart. He has always been among my heroes Ayrton Senna. But in the end I want to be myself, give the best of myself without being anyone else. Here, I just focus on myself and on the things to improve as quickly as possible. The expression world champion? It's always been a dream, like driving a Ferrari."
