F1 | Ferrari, Leclerc: “My dream is to become world champion”

"I got into a taxi from behind, the taxi driver didn't see me and asked me: 'You went to see the Grand Prix today (Sunday, ed.). The young man who won is very strong'. At the end of the trip I told him who I was, that is, the young man he said was very strong”. The interview opened with this background Charles Leclerc aired this evening on TG1.

For the Monegasque, the days that have just passed have been days of absolute celebration, after the two incredible triumphs obtained with Ferrari in Spa (1 September) and Monza (8 September).

The Red standard bearer, discussing the ability to control emotions, said: “I wasn't like that, before I was completely different. Even if I had a great race and came second he was very angry, I always wanted to come first. I was too demoralized. I worked so hard on this and now I'm much stronger mentally".

Leclerc has the objective to pursue well in mind: “The next dream is to become world champion? Yes. Being in Formula One was already a dream, being in Ferrari another and winning in Monza another. Being world champion is what I absolutely want".

The Monegasque then revealed a detail regarding the Mameli anthem: “I got in the car returning to Maranello with the Italian anthem to learn it in case of my first victory. But with the first victory (Belgian GP, ed.) due to emotion I couldn't find all the words. Then in Monza I got used to it and I did it".
