F1 | Ferrari, Leclerc: “I had fast teammates, with Hamilton I will learn a lot”
"Lewis is still fast, I don't think he needs my advice," stressed the Monegasque.
2025 will give the world of Formula 1 what could potentially be the best pairing on the grid. We are talking about that Ferrari that will see Charles Leclerc on one side and seven-time world champion Lewis Hamilton on the other. The Englishman, who at the end of the year will definitively close his experience in Mercedes marked by victories and records in over a decade, is ready for what can be considered the last great professional challenge of his career: trying to bring back that drivers' title to Maranello that has been missing since 2007.
Discussing his future teammate, Leclerc stressed that in his career he prefers to be able to share the pits with top-tier drivers rather than second-string ones. This is to allow him to increase his level and his experience, which he will surely have the opportunity to hone with a champion like Hamilton.
“Since I entered Formula 1, I have been very lucky,” Leclerc said in an interview with The Race-ESPN. “Instead of thinking of a second best as a teammate, I have always thought that it is much better to have the best as a teammate.”
The Monegasque added: “I had very, very fast teammates who pushed me to go forward and also with Lewis I will learn a lot. Lewis is still incredibly fast. He is still Lewis Hamilton. So, I don’t think he needs any advice from me!”
