Official debut for Laurent Mekies in Abu Dhabi with the colors of Ferrari. The French engineer, former safety manager at the FIA ​​and Charlie Whiting's deputy as test director, began his work in Maranello after the recent "gardening" period by the Federation, making his debut at the Yas Marina Circuit with the Cavallino colours.

Mekis, according to what was declared by Maurizio Arrivabene in the press conference on Thursday, will take on the role of sporting director and will take care of the role that Massimo Rivola held, at least until 2016, helping the Team Principal in managing track activities.

This promotion will allow Jock Clear to follow Charles Leclerc more carefully, becoming his race engineer starting from the test session scheduled for Tuesday morning.
