Q1. Carlos leaves the pits on Intermediate tyres, followed by Charles. The two achieved 1'58"131 and 1'55"054 respectively but continued to lap. Leclerc ultimately clocked 1'54”129, while Carlos achieved 1'54”559. Both enter Q2.

Q2. Charles and Carlos still go out on intermediate tyres. The Monegasque achieved 1'52”343, the Spaniard 1'53”219. Both enter Q3.

Q3. In the final stage both Charles and Carlos go out on the Softs. In the first attempt he gets 1'49”412, which is the best time, while Carlos does 1'49”583. Neither of them improved in the second attempt but the positions did not change. Charles gets pole position number 18, Ferrari's 241st in Formula 1. Carlos will be there, in the second row, ready to attack.
