F1 | Ferrari, Charles Leclerc: “Promising steps forward”

These three days of testing also come to an end Charles Leclerc, who seems not to have had an easy life with the SF-23. His expression on Thursday is now viral, after the first laps aboard the new red. It is also true that the team of Maranello he tried to push the car to the maximum, to find its strengths but above all its flaws. The Monegasque lapped for the first time in the morning session, completing sixty-seven laps, in less than ideal conditions given the high temperatures, but still managed to set a good time with the C4 compound, which still earned him fourth place in the final standings. All things considered, the SF-23 seems to confirm the strengths of its predecessor: agile on the flying lap, a little more shaky on the race pace, where, however, things improve with the harder compounds. Leclerc then closes the tests with almost two hundred laps and 1000km behind him.

“It was three days of very intense testing. In the first we took measurements on the SF-23 to understand the correlation with the factory data and we collected interesting indications, which confirmed the information we had – declared Leclerc – in the last two days we concentrated on fine-tuning by doing promising steps forward. I also tried different driving styles to see which one suits this new car best. We will be here again in a week for the opening match of the championship and it will be interesting to finally understand what the true values on the pitch will be."
