F1 | Ferrari, Charles Leclerc: “The car is fast”

Bitter sweet day for Charles Leclerc. The Monegasque lost a lot of time in the pits in FP1, due to some checks on the car. In the afternoon, however, everything seemed to be going well until the final stages, when the Monegasque lost the car and hit the barriers at Rivazza 2, damaging the front right suspension of the SF21. Despite these setbacks, Leclerc placed himself in fourth position in the morning, but was only sixth in FP2: his best time, in reality, was canceled for having exceeded the track limits at Piratella. The canceled weather would have been the best of the day.

Ferrari's performances seem encouraging, but qualifying will tell the truth.

"Today was certainly positive, despite the time lost in the first session and the accident at the end of the second – revealed the Monegasque – the car is fast, the balance is good and I felt at ease immediately. Obviously only tomorrow will we know what the true values ​​on the field are, also because perhaps some have not yet shown their full potential.

"This afternoon I made a mistake while I was pushing hard in race configuration, I'm sorry for the guys but luckily there were only two minutes left – added Charles – I was happy with my flying lap: the time that was canceled out by a handful of centimeters would have been the best and even over the distance I think we found a good balance. The track is beautiful and I can't wait to get back in the car tomorrow for qualifying, where I think a good result could be within our reach".
