F1 | Ferrari, Binotto: “Vettel-Leclerc good duo, it's nice to have them in the team”

Despite some tensions that characterized their cohabitation in the last season, Mattia binotto believes that Sebastian Vettel e Charles Leclerc can represent a resource for the Cavallino stable. In fact, the Red team principal believes that, despite the differences, both are positive for the team.

"There were several controversies between them that we read in the newspapers and the media, but for us it's nice to have them in the team – admitted Binotto, quoted by Autosport -. It's a good match, very different in terms of experience and drivingFor us it is an advantage".

Binotto then, continuing with his discussion, added: “If you look at them when they are together you notice that they are very good. There is a good spirit and good rivalry in qualifying. When Charles is behind Seb he is disappointed, but is not discouraged. Stay positive".

The Italian-Swiss engineer also specified that the antagonism between the two, which emerged in various circumstances last year and which reached its peak in the fratricidal accident at Interlagos, can exist as long as the main asset remains the team which both must trust.

"You have to accept the rivalry between the two, they are main drivers and they are here to give everything and win – underlined Binotto -. That's why it's very important for me to understand what the overall goal of the team is. Talking on the radio is never the best, since you can't get the overall picture from the car. You should just trust the team. I think it's about having clarity and transparency during the season, we should talk about any kind of situation that might happen during the race".
