F1 | Ferrari, Binotto on the aerodynamic innovations: "Big change, but it won't benefit anyone"

While waiting for the major regulatory change, which will come into force next year, this season Formula One is grappling with regulatory stability despite some diversification at an aerodynamic level having been implemented. News which, however, according to what was stated by Ferrari team principal Mattia Binotto, should not favor a particular team over the others.

"It was a big change for all the teams – declared Binotto, quoted by GPFans – If we look at the overall amount of aerodynamic performance we lost, it is significant and it was difficult to recover it all. It was a big change, but I don't think it favors one solution or the other. Every car has its own concept and you always try to optimize around it. So I think it's pretty neutral on the various concepts, but obviously you would have to do a comparison and that's something we haven't done".

Binotto then made an analysis of the three days of testing that took place last weekend in Sakhir, the track on which the opening race of the season will be held on Sunday 28 March.

"We knew that in just three days it would be very challenging and very intense – admitted the Maranello TP – The main priority was to understand the behavior of the car and in all conditions. This is where we have focused our energies. We have collected a lot of data that now needs to be analyzed to understand the correlations with the wind tunnel. In terms of data measurement everything went very well, we covered kilometers and followed our plan".
