F1 | Ferrari, Binotto: “We are designing a rear wing like the Mercedes one”
"He will most likely debut in Barcelona, in Baku we will need a smaller winger," said the Red team principal
The first three races held in seasons have highlighted fluctuating performances with regards to Ferrari. In Australia and China the SF90 never managed to worry Mercedes, while in the night race in Sakhir, Charles Leclerc's Red was betrayed by an internal short circuit in an engine injection control unit while it was firmly leading the Gran Bahrain Award.
Analyzing the events held so far, the Cavallino team principal Mattia binotto said: "Depending on the track we have limitations. One thing is certain: Ferrari pushes with less downforce than Mercedes – underlined the Italian-Swiss engineer, quoted by Auto Motor und Sport -. We are designing a rear wing like the Mercedes one".
Binotto, on the subject, then added: “He will probably make his debut in Barcelona, because in the next trip to Baku we will need a smaller winger. This change will also require a correction on the front wing, thus having to balance the car".
