F1 | Ferrari, Binotto: “I'm happy that the car works correctly, but we would like to be faster and more reliable”

Ferrari team principal Mattia Binotto, despite the excellent feedback provided on the track by the new SF90 in the eight days of collective pre-season testing held at Montmeló in recent weeks, preaches calm in view of the first appointment of 2019 which will take place on Sunday 17 March on the semi-city track at Melbourne's Albert Park.

Despite the best overall performance by Sebastian Vettel and the excellent sensations aroused by Charles Leclerc, the Cavallino single-seater revealed some small problems which slowed down the work on the track planned by the men of the Red team.

"I think we've done a lot of work, but I'm not happy with where we are right now – underlined Binotto -. We would like to be faster and we would like to be more reliable. So there is still a lot to do. I'm happy that the car performs as expected, but I also know that there are many issues to address and performance to improve".

The Italian-Swiss engineer then added: “Certainly the fact that the machine works correctly is a good starting point. Our program hasn't always worked as we hoped. I think most of the tasks still need to be done".
