F1 | Ferrari, Binotto: "We are disappointed, we have decided to appeal the stewards' decision"

Ferrari leaves the weekend of the Canadian Grand Prix, the seventh round of the 2019 Formula One World Championship, with a double podium thanks to second place for Sebastian Vettel and third for Charles Leclerc.

The spoils for the Red team could have been richer without the 5" penalty imposed on Sebastian Vettel for having rejoined the track in a dangerous manner in front of Lewis Hamilton after a long turn at turn 3 on lap 48, which deprived the Red team and the German of their first victory of this championship.

Ferrari team principal Mattia Binotto, commenting on the Montreal race, said: “At this moment we can only be disappointed, as a team overall but above all thinking about Sebastian and the public. As for Seb, I think he couldn't have done anything different to what he did, which is why we decided to appeal the stewards' decision".

He then added: “We leave Canada with the awareness that today, as throughout the weekend, we have shown that we are competitive and this has given the whole team a dose of confidence.".
