F1 | Ferrari, Binotto: “Regrets about Hamilton? No, we believe in Leclerc"

Ferrari does not regret the choice of not trying to bring Lewis Hamilton to Maranello. It is clear that the seven-time world champion will end his career without ever having driven the Ferrari, despite there having been some mutual winks over the years, considering that Ferrari has always sought out and attracted great champions.

Mattia Binotto, team principal of the Cavallino, however, explained that Ferrari did not think of Hamilton because it was fully convinced of the talent of Charles Leclerc, a driver already considered capable of fighting on equal terms with Lewis, provided obviously the Monegasque has a car that is up to the task .

“I don't think we will regret the choice not to try to get Hamilton – Binotto told Sky Sports – At the end of the day you make the decisions you think are the best. Now we have an extraordinary driver like Leclerc, in whom we have invested a lot. We think Charles has enormous talent and with the right car he is capable of fighting with Hamilton. We have made our choices and we believe that he and Sainz make a very strong couple. So I don't think we will have any regrets."
