F1 | Ferrari, Binotto: “For Charles a maturity race”

Mattia Binotto can be satisfied with the fourth place obtained by Charles Leclerc in Portugal. The Monegasque effectively maintained the starting position obtained yesterday in qualifying, a sign that the updates seem to be working, despite having finished within a minute of Hamilton. A point for Vettel after a difficult weekend in which he seems to have found the feeling with the SF1000 only in the last part of the race.

“All in all, a fairly positive race – admitted Binotto. We brought both drivers into the points, confirming with Charles the placing he had obtained in qualifying while Sebastian managed to grab the last available point. Charles had an excellent race, very mature. We knew that the first lap would be treacherous and so it was, also due to the raindrops that fell at that moment. Once the tires were up to temperature, he was able to recover and put himself in the conditions we hoped for on the eve of the race, consolidating fourth place with a good pace. Sebastian was also in difficulty at the start, losing a few positions and in the end he was unable to go beyond tenth. Now we must confirm the progress seen in the last few races also in the final part of this championship. We are still behind in the Constructors' standings but making up ground is possible: this must be our objective and we must do everything to achieve it."
