Ferrari is one of the top teams called to get back on top in the new season after a difficult 2020 which saw the Ferrari finish only in sixth place in the Constructors' World Championship. To date, however, it is impossible to understand how much the new single-seater, the SF21, can improve on the track, which will be an evolution of the previous one even if it will be able to count on a new engine.

Mattia Binotto himself preferred to keep a low profile, aware that it will be impossible for Ferrari to bridge the technical gap that currently separates it from Mercedes.

"Honestly, the gap with the best team today is very big and we won't close it next year – declared Binotto, quoted by GPFans – You never know what can happen during the season, during the races, if there is an opportunity, hopefully, we can take it. I don't have a glass ball".

The Ferrari team principal then added: “Let's wait and see. This is the beauty of F1. There are uncertainties and we are working very hard to do our best, let's see what the competitive level will be in March".
