F1 | Ferrari, Binotto: "Episodes against us, we deserved more"

The seventh and eighth places of Leclerc and Sainz in Jeddah do not reflect the real competitiveness shown by Ferrari in Saudi Arabia. Some episodes evidently unfavorable to the Red did not allow, especially the Monegasque, to gain a more substantial haul of points. The former Renault driver, however, was the author of a good comeback from fifteenth position on the starting grid, which was not at all to be taken for granted given the many pitfalls that this Grand Prix has in store for the Circus.

“Today we had the potential to collect more points than we actually achieved – admitted Mattia Binotto, Ferrari team principal. The many episodes that characterized this Grand Prix did not work in our favor but the level of performance of the team and the car remains on record. We now go to Abu Dhabi with a good margin of advantage over McLaren in the fight for third place in the Constructors' championship while Charles took fifth in the Drivers' championship. We must stay focused and prepare in the best way for the last effort before definitively putting a stop to this season and thinking only about 2022."
