F1 | Ferrari, Binotto: "Race against time to bring updates already over the weekend"

The disappointing performance of the Ferrari in Austria pushed the technicians of Maranello to do everything possible to bring important updates on the SF1000. After the announcement on Monday afternoon, Mattia binotto, team principal and technical director of the Red team, stated that the team is racing against time to bring as many upgrades as possible to both cars by the weekend, with an enormous (but necessary, ed.) amount of work in Maranello.

“Not even time to take a breath after a really intense race weekend and we are back on track, on the same track where we raced last Sunday – Binotto said. It is one of the novelties of this strange 2020 season, which began in July and is expected to end just before Christmas. First of all, I would like to congratulate the FIA, Formula 1 and the promoter of the Spielberg circuit for the effort made in organizing the event. Formula 1 was the first global sport to resume its path after the outbreak of the pandemic and due credit must be given to those who did everything possible to achieve this result, which was far from a given."

“While the race team remained in Spielberg between one appointment and another, work is in full swing in Maranello to try to react to the indications that emerged in the first Grand Prix. We knew it would be an uphill start to the season and it was more than we expected and that's why we are pushing hard to try to bring forward at least some of the updates we had planned to bring to Hungary this weekend. It's a race against time but we're giving it our all. Precisely because we will be racing on the same track, it would be important to have the new components in order to confirm their effectiveness and understand whether the new development direction undertaken is the right one. The objective of the Styrian Grand Prix is very clear: to get the most out of the package available and exploit every opportunity to collect as many points as possible."
