The Ferrari German has a contract that expires at the end of the season
The list of names that Mercedes is following with particular attention in view of the future undoubtedly includes Sebastian Vettel, the current leader of the world championship standings with a 13-point advantage over Lewis Hamilton.
Brackley recently denied this rumor (“There's nothing true about ito”, the dry response from team principal Toto Wolff), but according to Eddie Jordan the Stella team, dominator of the last three seasons of the Formula Hybrid, would be flirting with Vettel who has a contract with Ferrari which expires at the end of the season.
"Of course who are talking to Vettel – declared Jordan in an interview with the German newspaper Sports Bild - Formula One is total business. It would not only be a move to strengthen your own force, but also to weaken your opponent".
