In recent days, the words of Mattia Binotto released to the Guardian, with subsequent rectification, in which the Ferrari team principal had hinted at new motoring scenarios for the Red team even far from Formula One.

Bernie Ecclestone, interviewed by Autocar magazine, expressed his point of view on a possible farewell of the Cavallino to the Circus. For the former Formula One Maranello boss he would maintain his uniqueness and his coat of arms even if he were to lean towards a farewell to the premier class of motorsport.

"If Ferrari wanted to leave, they should have done so – admitted Mister E –. They never did and, as it happens, I have only fond memories of Mr Ferrari. He always told me what was really going on, even when he was busy telling everyone else otherwise".

Ecclestone then added: “I think F1 without Ferrari is not good at all. And the Ferrari brand is so strong that it could move away from F1 and still be great. Even when they aren't winning in F1, you could ask a man on the street who won the world title and he would simply say Ferrari".
