Among the various topics addressed by Bernie Ecclestone, in the interview given to La Gazzetta dello Sport, the topic concerning Charles Leclerc also appears.

In the recent past, the former Formula One boss had expressed all his skepticism towards Ferrari's move to replace Kimi Raikkonen with Charles Leclerc, but the performances so far offered by the Principality driver at the wheel of the SF90 seem to have convinced Mister E.

"Personality reminds me of Gilles Villeneuve – underlined Ecclestone -. I was wrong, I thought sending Raikkonen away wasn't a good move. Clearly I will wait a little longer before making a final judgement. At the moment Charles seems super fast, he has great control of the car and is even, perhaps, quicker than Vettel".

Speaking instead of Vettel he said: “Seb is not old, what is happening is strange. Maybe he thought he had an easy life and didn't realize how fast Charles could be, but I am convinced that Vettel can win the championship".

Ecclestone, when asked specifically about the team orders that have characterized the Ferrari World Championship so far, said: “At this stage it is out of place. These are things that are done later, no one knows what direction the season will take. These are things that are done later, when there is a clearer picture".
