F1, after the Abu Dhabi race: Sanctions for Maldonado and Alguersuari

Pastor Maldonado and Jaime Alguersuari were both sanctioned for ignoring blue flags during the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix.

The pair of drivers went to the stewards after the Yas Marina race to explain why they didn't let Felipe Massa and Mark Webber pass.

The stewards decided for a drive-through against Alguersuari, but the penalty was converted into a finish classification penalty 20 seconds after the race.

Maldonado, who had previously received a drive-through penalty for ignoring blue flags, was given a stop-and-go penalty – which was converted into a 30-second penalty added to his race time.

The sanctions do not change the positions of the two drivers, with Maldonado finishing 14th and Alguersuari one place behind.
