F1 | Doornbos cautious about a possible Dutch GP: “The competition is very strong”

Despite Charlie Whiting's recent checks in Assen, Robert Doornbos doesn't want to take Holland's entry into the Formula One circus for granted. According to the former Formula One driver, in fact, the negotiation between the Dutch and Liberty Media has yet to reach its "high point", without considering that the list of contenders for a place in the world championship is very long. Furthermore, the many Grands Prix that will be held in Europe in 2018 do not favor the position of Assen and Zandvoort, pressured by Asian and American countries. The objective for Dutch managers will be to speed up the process, focusing on the stability of the project and the influence of Max Verstappen, a true star who would bring many fans to a possible Dutch Grand Prix.

Here are the words of Robert Doornbos: “Zandvoort estimated the organization costs and Charlie Whiting inspected the Assen track. It's certainly positive news, but we must not forget the competition that exists between the various European circuits. This year there are already several competitions in the old continent and the list of interested states is very long. Furthermore, this year we have reached the point of having three consecutive races on our continent. It's a difficult negotiation, but Verstappen's arrival could shake things up. We will see".
