F1 | Domenicali: “Enthusiastic to confirm Turkey”

A little while ago, Formula 1 made a change to the 2021 calendar official: the Canadian Grand Prix (scheduled for 11 to 13 June, ed.) will be replaced by the Turkish Grand Prix due to anti-Covid-19 restrictions for travelers to Canada.

“While it is disappointing that we cannot be in Canada this season, we are thrilled to confirm that Turkey will host a Grand Prix in 2021 after an incredible race last season.”, declared Stefano Domenicali, President and CEO of Formula 1.

“I know all our fans are excited about the exciting start to the season and Turkey is a fantastic circuit that offers great on-track battles. I want to thank the promoter and the Canadian authorities for all their efforts over the last few weeks, but the travel situation made our plans impossible. I equally want to thank the promoter and the authorities in Turkey for their continued willingness to host a Formula 1 race which shows the enormous interest in our sport and the hope of having a Grand Prix. We have had great conversations with all the other promoters since the beginning of the year and will continue to work closely with them during this period”.
