F1 | Domenicali confirms: “Monaco could host the public”

Interviewed during the in-depth program e-VENTI signed by Sky TG 24, Stefano Domenicali confirmed the intention of the Automobile Club of Monaco to hold the Principality Grand Prix with the presence of the public in the stands, at least for what concerns the day on Sunday. According to the former Lamborghini Manager, the organizers of the race are doing their utmost to open the doors of the stands to the fans, an aspect that certainly gives hope for the continuation of the season.

On the possible confirmation of Imola within the 2022 calendar, however, Domenicali did not want to go too far, specifying however that the idea on the table of Liberty Media is that there could soon be meetings with the Regine Emilia Romagna and with ACI to agree on a common strategy to follow in the coming months. The intention, at least on paper, is to "give" Santerno a fixed slot within the World Cup.

“Monte Carlo promises to be the first Grand Prix where a limited number of people should be admitted on Sunday”, said the President and CEO of Liberty Media. “This year is more complex than last year, when no one thought of completing a season with 17 Grands Prix. It's more difficult because each country has different regulations, we have to monitor the daily situation, which changes from hour to hour."

“The Monaco case gives us hope looking ahead because if the situation improves there will be a gradual reopening and Formula 1 fans will be given the opportunity to participate in the Grand Prix,” continued the Italian Manager. “There is a desire for Formula 1, also physical, not just television, incredible”.

On Imola he instead declared: “Promising something that isn't certain isn't my thing, but when Foreign Minister Di Maio came to Imola together with the president of the Automobile Club Sticchi Damiani and the president of the Region Bonaccini we talked about this eventuality. He's on the table and we're talking about it. We'll see what happens".
