F1 | Alfa Romeo disaster in Hungary: Giovinazzi and Raikkonen will start from the last row

"It will be a difficult race, let's hope to have a better pace," said Fred Vasseur

Problem after problem on the C39, a car currently well below the competition
F1 | Alfa Romeo disaster in Hungary: Giovinazzi and Raikkonen will start from the last row

Qualifying for the Hungarian Grand Prix for Alfa Romeo Racing was a real disaster. The Hinwil-based team will start from the back row with Giovinazzi ahead of Raikkonen. A crazy downgrade in recent months, with a C39 evidently born badly at least on the flying lap, as well as in Austria never really competitive, while in the race at Zeltweg it managed to recover more or less. We'll see if this will also be the case on the Hungarian track, but the conditions are not rosy at all.

“Today's performance is far from our goals and where we expected to be – said Fred Vasseur, team principal of Alfa Romeo Racing. We need to find the reasons why these results arrived. We had made some steps forward in the two races in Austria, but evidently there is still a lot of work to do to reach the level we deserve. The race will be difficult: we hope to have a better pace, but starting from the last row Kimi and Antonio will have their work cut out for them. We will give 100% as always and see where it takes us."
