F1 | Di Resta: “I want to return to racing full time”
"In Budapest I showed that I am still capable of racing at this level"
Last appearance in Hungary has changed the 2018 prospects of Paul DiResta. The English rider would like to return to racing full-time in formula 1, even if there are not many places currently available. The most practicable path seems to be the one that leads to Williams, of which he has been third driver since 2016. “I would like to be a starter next year – says Di Resta – but I can't decide on behalf of Williams, they have to choose. I can't convince them, I can only show them what I can do.". Di Resta at the Hungaroring, where he replaced the injured man for the occasion Sponge, made everyone agree on its unchanged competitiveness: “I hope that people in Budapest appreciated what I did, I was professional and also quite fast".
However, Di Resta admits that his 31 years are not a good business card: "Surely if you are young you have more opportunities, but I still have a lot of desire to compete. Is a dream, mine, which can still come true, we just have to wait for the right situation to occur".
But my mind is now still on the current season: “I'm focused on the work I have to do for Williams. Maybe this year a situation similar to that of Hungary will arise again and I will have the opportunity to race again. The team can count on me".
