F1 | Claire Williams on the renewals of Massa and Stroll: “At the moment we are focused on the championship”

According to what Claire Williams reports, the Grove team has not yet discussed with its drivers regarding next season's line-up. Felipe Massa, remember, his contract expires at the end of this season and he is waiting for signs from the management of the English Scuderia. At the moment the negotiation is at a standstill, especially because of Mercedes: in the event of Vettel's arrival in Stuttgart, in fact, Bottas would be diverted to Williams, effectively taking the seat away from Massa. A different story however for Lance Stroll given that the Canadian can count on the support of his father, a prominent economic figure within the team.

Here are the words of Claire Williams: “We decided to rest our riders for a few days. It was a very hard-fought first part of the season and we are fighting for various objectives. Never before has there been so much competition in the middle of the pack like this year and we don't want to be caught unprepared. We will take up the topic of renewal later. At the moment it would just be a distraction."
